Craving Balances

My path to becoming a health coach began with a desire for more energy and balance in my busy life as a single working mom of two kids. Waking up required significant amounts of caffeine and sugar played a big role in my daily routine. Food dominated my days as a marketing and sales professional working in the food industry for many years. Routine calendar entries included bread tastings, food events, writing about food, chef-dinners and more. I love food – eating, cooking, sharing it, talking about it and working in the industry. What I didn’t love was the upward trend in my weight, and cravings that controlled me. Delicious, unhealthy choices were often at an arm’s reach daily and as a carb-lovin’ Italian, it was hard to resist. The reality is, food is at an arm’s reach for ALL of us – everywhere you go, every get-together, holiday, celebration – food doesn’t just fuel us, it connects and comforts us. As a Libra, I thrived when life was balanced. I didn’t feel balanced in the food I was eating and it was eating me up.

How do I control cravings when I’m surrounded by temptations? How does food impact energy and stress? How do I work in a work out? Can I enjoy great food experiences and get healthy? I don’t diet, is there another way? Yes!

I found my answers at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York, an amazing school that taught me the power of food, nutrition and wellness. I became a Certified Holistic Health Practitioner, accredited by the Association of Drugless Practitioners. More important than the title was what I learned — it was Real and Smart and it changed my life. I love food even more and I know how to fuel myself to get the best energy and balance for my busy life. I’m so excited to help other busy people learn how to have more energy, feel better and naturally power their lives with Real Food and Smart Choices.

About My Training

I received my health and nutrition training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition®. I studied many dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts including Drs. Deepak Chopra and Mark Hyman.

I’m also a seasoned marketing communications professional with more than a decade of experience in the food industry. I’ve enjoyed a lot of time in grocery stores and restaurants (still do!). Despite my access to great food, when you’re busy and hungry you don’t often make the best choices. I learned how empowering it can be to fuel yourself with food that gives you maximum energy. I’ve mastered techniques to make healthy food and exercise part of my normal routine, no matter how busy life is.

Drawing on my personal and professional experiences, I help my clients understand confusing marketing messages, reset their taste buds and start their journey developing healthy habits that last a lifetime!

What is a Health Coach?

Imagine having a personal accountability partner, coach and cheerleader to help you reach your health goals? That’s what a health coach is! Health coaches rarely wear whistles or go by the name “coach”, but they will provide the guidance, support and encouragement you need to set health goals and make sustainable changes that improve your overall health and happiness. Health coaches focus on all aspects of personal nourishment including nutrition, exercise, relationships and lifestyle.
