Do you Chew or Chomp? Eat like a snail, not a lobster.
Lobsters have teeth in their stomach, you don’t.
Next time you eat, notice if you are chewing or chomping. Do you take a bite and swallow? If you’re chewing, how long do you chew? Sometimes we’re so busy we don’t pay attention to what we’re eating or we’re eating on the run so quickly that we simply chomp and swallow.
When you chomp and swallow your body must work harder to digest the food which zaps energy you need for other parts of your busy life. The smaller your food is when you swallow it, the faster you can digest it and get the energy from that food working for you. So, eat like a snail – slow down.
Here are three more great reasons why you should chew more:
- The more you chew, the less you eat
- Chewing stimulates your taste buds, giving you more pleasure
- You are forced to slow down and enjoy your food
At your next few meals, observe if you’re chewing or chomping. Purposely chew longer before you swallow. Now do this for a few days. What do you notice?
Tell me what you discovered. I’d love to hear from you!
